Window wreath

In this class you will learn how to cut strips of glass to make a stunning window decoration.  You will choose a variety of coloured glass pieces, combining opaque and transparent glass to create a unique effect

Candle shield/wave

In this class there is a lot of flexibility in what you can do.  You will cut glass and use other embelishments – stringers, frit and glass pebbles to make your own candle shield and/or wave.

Fused glass flowers

Fused glass flowers

In this class you will learn how to make a range of simple flowers.  You will investigate shapes and colours of glass, powders, stringers and frit to produce a selection of unique flowers.  You will learn to cut glass safely.

Introduction to modelling glass

In this class you will learn about the versatile medium – modelling glass.  Modelling glass is made from powdered glass to make a medium similar to polymer clay.  It can then be used to make shapes and embossed designs that are not possible to cut from glass.  Modelling glass pieces can then be used alone or as elements in other fused glass pieces.  In this class you can make a wall hanging or similar item that uses both modelling glass and regular fusing glass.

Note:  If you decide to make a piece that can be incorporated with regular art glass, you can book a class later in the year to do this.  The date for this can be agreed during the class.

Light catchers and glass plant tags

In this class there is a lot of flexibility in what you can do.  You will cut glass and use other embelishments – stringers, frit and glass pebbles to make your own light catcher and glass plant tag.

Kiln carving

In this class you will learn how to use fibre paper to ‘Kiln Carve’ a design into a piece of glass.  Kiln carving is a technique using fibre paper to create a design.  The design is then applied to a piece of glass and in the kiln will take the form of your design.  Your piece will be fired and can be shaped into a bowl or left flat as a window hanging.

Christmas Decorations

In this class there is a lot of flexibility in what you can do.  You will cut glass and use other embelishments – stringers, frit and glass pebbles to make a variety of Christmas decorations.

Using powders

In this class you will use mainly use glass powders.  They can be use to make different effects when used wet and when used dry.   The glass powders give an effect that is similar to a batik effect.  Your piece/pieces will be fired and can be shaped into a dish, or left flat as a wall hanging.
